The Ávila Foundation awarded by CECA in the Sports and Leisure category

@sportsavila / The Avila Foundation has received the second prize in the category Sport and Leisure of the CECA Awards 2022 that have been delivered this morning in Madrid.

The entity from Avila has received this award for the ‘Venero Claro’ projecta children’s colony that has been in operation without interruption since 1972 and that last summer celebrated its 50th birthday. The first prize has been awarded to the CajaCanarias Foundation for its chess and athletics school program.

The president of the Ávila Foundation, the president of the Ávila Foundation, has traveled to the headquarters of CECA (Spanish banking association that defends the interests of savings banks and the banking entities created by them), where the event was held. This event, organized annually by CECA, aims to give voice to all those projects that contribute to improving the well-being of society through the work carried out by the credit institutions associated with CECA and their foundations.

The Avila Foundation has been one of the 22 awarded entities out of a total of 72 initiatives presented in more than ten categories.

The CECA Awards have been presented by the Olympic medalist in synchronized swimming, Ona Carbonell. They have attended Martha Arce, a high-performance athlete, whose visual impairment has not prevented him from competing in the sport that is his passion, judo, and winning medals in three editions of the Paralympic Games. The judoka has given an inspiring talk in which she has explained her love for sport and life, highlighting the importance of inclusive sport and highlighting the values ​​of adaptation and improvement.

In December 2021, CECA launched the online financial education course for athletes. The initiative has the support of Ona Carbonell, ambassador of the ObraSocial and Financial Education of CECA and of numerous sports federations as the swimming y athleticsjust like him Superior Sports Council and the Spanish Sports Association (ADESP). To the course they have already registered more than 500 athletes.

The aim of the project is for athletes to learn to manage their personal finances during their active life and also to be able to correctly plan the time of their retirement.
