On the morning of Tuesday 20 December, after a long illness, he passed away Franco Grappolinitrainer and founder of the Pisa Cell Baseball & Softball. Franco Grappolini from Grosseto, was an institution in the world of baseball, player, coach of the Serie A and Serie B youth teams of Siena and Livorno and coach for the regional selections, he had won two national championships with the Italian regional youth selection as well as coaching the greatest promises of Italian baseball.
For some years he had brought baseball back to Pisa with the U12 Pisa La Cella team which, first together with Livorno and then alone, had participated in the last two baseball championships in Tuscany and recently in the 2022 Coni Trophy in Chianciano Terme. The children, parents and all the technical staff gather around his wife Maria Pia Boschi and their children, thanking Franco for all the love he has given.
