Sportingism is confident of “finally breaking the statistics” in the derby

With great caution, respect for the eternal enemy, but with confidence in “finally” achieving a good result in the first of the two games most anticipated by the rojiblanca fans. This is how sportinguism faces the Asturian derby this Saturday in Oviedo. The majority of rojiblancos fans do not see Sporting as a favourite, due to several factors: the dynamics of the results of Abelardo’s team, despite the improvement in these last two games, and, above all, the numbers that the squad has been reaping in its particular face to face with your number one enemy. There are also those who argued yesterday, when leaving El Molinón after the draw against Cartagena, that it is very difficult to win against Carlos Tartiere with the lack of offensive success that the team has been showing, especially in recent games. The followers point to Cali, Zarfino, Djuka and Jordan as the references to tip the balance.

“It’s going to be a very difficult match. Above all, because of how it’s being played. The team has a problem: it needs a lot of chances to score. Today (for yesterday) we had seven clear ones. But there was no way. We would have needed another three more to at least score one. And in a derby…”, explained Pedro Pineda. “The dynamics are not good… Everything is very even. I think Zarfino or Cali have character and in this type of game they can make a difference,” pointed out Jaime Mier. “I see a draw… It will be a hard-fought match, one of those that is hard to win. I trust Djuka, because of his character; I think he can end his drought in Oviedo”, analyzed Sergio Simón. Other subscribers, like Jesús Simón, observe the decisive battle in the center of the field. “There, Sporting has more than Oviedo. The negative statistics? They are there to break them,” adds the subscriber, who bets on the impudence and pride of a revelation player in the last stretch. “Jordan can make the difference. I’m liking how he plays,” he says.

The Federation of Businesswomen and Executives of Asturias, invited to the box at El Molinón

Sporting invited the Asturias Federation of Businesswomen and Managers to the box, led by Begoña Fernández-Costales, the president. A representation of the Carreño City Council also attended, with its mayoress, Amelia Fernández, and the managing director of the Sports Board, Manuel Muñiz.
