Ifs Takes Action Against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Sports: Nine Clubs Sign Manifesto

After Falaise, Lisieux and Mondeville, Ifs is the fourth city in Calvados to take action against sexual and gender-based violence in sport. It is, on the other hand, the first to associate clubs.

Nine ifois clubs commit

Tennis, badminton, football, basketball, volleyball, judo, gymnastics, yoga, cycling… Recently, nine sports associations from Ifs, near Caen (Calvados), signed a manifesto to prevent sexual and gender-based violence in the sport.

Specific actions will thus be developed by the community: active reporting approach, respectful communication, awareness-raising and display during events, calls for civic service for prevention, etc.

Setting up a “violence meter”

The City is already announcing “a display of the number 119 in clubs, meetings between parents and coaches, a conference open to all before the end of the year, the installation of a violence meter…”

In addition, the State and the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of Calvados offer their information kit consisting of leaflets and five posters. “Unique in France, it is distributed to the 66 clubs involved in Calvados. »
