National player Dennis Schröder would like to remain involved with professional basketball into old age.

Los Angeles – “I definitely want to play until 40, at a good level,” said the Los Angeles Lakers NBA professional on moderator Kai Pflaume’s YouTube channel.

“I want to play again in my club in Braunschweig,” added the main shareholder of the Bundesliga club, Basketball Löwen Braunschweig. The 29-year-old, who was born in Braunschweig, would also like to play for a non-German club beforehand: “Maybe in Madrid or Barcelona.” The point guard estimated his commitment in the United States: “I have maybe three, four, five good ones here Years. And then I want to go to Europe and would like to win a championship with Braunschweig.”

At the age of 40 it should be over at the latest, then he wants to concentrate on entrepreneurial activities.

Schröder’s career plans are also based on his teammate and NBA superstar LeBron James. “I spoke to LeBron about how much longer he wants to play. And LeBron actually said he wants to play five, six, seven more years. And he’s turning 38 now.”

Schröder was trained in Braunschweig and matured there to become a Bundesliga player. At the age of 19 he made his breakthrough and moved to the USA in the NBA to join the Atlanta Hawks. dpa
