“Rīgas Stradiņa University”/”Murjāņu Sports Gymnasium” (RSU/MSĂ) volleyball opponents “Cewood” will be “Rīgas Volleyball School”/”University of Latvia” (RVS/LU) in the final of the Latvian Cup on Saturday.

In the semifinals, RVS/LU defeated “SuFA club”/”Daugavpils University” (“SuFA club”/DU) 3-1 (25:18, 25:12, 26:28, 25:10).
In the three sets, the girls from Riga had a big lead, but in the third set, the lead of one of the teams exceeded two points for the only time, when Kristīne Gabranova scored 23:20 in favor of “SuFA klubs”/DU with a block, and the girls from Daugavpils won the set with the fourth set point.
Kristīne Kramēna was the top scorer among the winners with 26 points, five of which were scored with a serve. 18 points were scored by Maggie Dambrecht, 11 by Anna Rita and eight by Junora Vagele, both players of the first pace stood out with three blocks.
Anastasija Ivanova scored ten points for Daugavpils, Kristine Gabranova scored nine.
Kramena and Gabranova were recognized as the best players of the match.
On Friday, in the first semi-final, RSU/MSG defeated “Jelgava” volleyball players 3-1 (9:25, 25:11, 25:18, 25:23).
In the ranks of the winners, Agia Ankevics scored 14 points, who added a point to the match in the attack, 13 – Katrína Struka, 11 – Carmen Struka, who scored six of the points with a block and two – with a serve, while Laura Kristine Vāvere added ten points.
For Jelgavniece, 16 points were scored by Liva Sola, ten by Yelizaveta Morozova, and nine by Inese Jursone.
Jēkabpils “Lūši” and “Vecumnieki” will compete in the first semi-final of the men’s tournament at 6 p.m., while at 8:30 p.m. there will be a match between RTU/”Robežsardze”/”Jūrmala” and “Ezerzeme”/DU.
All semi-finals are broadcasted live by the television channel “Best4sport TV” and the YouTube channel “Volleyball Latvija”.
On Saturday, the women’s final will start at 5:30 p.m., while the men’s title match will take place at 8:45 p.m.
The women’s final will be broadcast by Latvian public media portal “LSM.lv”, while the men’s final will be available on channel 7 of Latvian Television.
During the weekend, together with the adult cup matches, the finals of the Latvian Cup in volleyball for young people in the U-14, U-16 and U-19 age groups, as well as for young people in beach volleyball in the U-14, U-16 and U-18 age groups, will be held.
In December 2021, the finals of the Latvian Cup in Jelgava turned out tense – “Jelgava” volleyball players beat RSU/MVS 3-2 (25:20, 23:25, 27:25, 20:25, 15:8), but in the men’s decisive match ” “Lūšu” volleyball players defeated RTU/”Robežsardze”/”Jūrmala” 3-2 (25:20, 20:25, 16:25, 25:14, 15:13).
