Pedro Proença praises the success of Thinking Football and announces a new edition in 2023

The Thinking Football summit “was a success”, assessed the president of the Portuguese Professional Football League, at the close of the inaugural edition of the event, which returns in 2023, again in Porto.

“We made history! After three days of these unique, unprecedented and totally innovative experiences, we can say that the dream came true. There is a before and an after of this Thinking Football. This first step, so symbolic and so successful, was only possible because it was planned and worked on together with essential partners”, rejoiced the maximum leader of the organization, during the conclusion ceremony, at the Pavilhão Rosa Mota.

Since Friday, the conference has hosted national and global players for a series of debates about football, which will be repeated from September 7 to 9, 2023.

“On the first day alone we had more than 7,000 people watching the various moments of the event. Professional football can finally tell everyone today that it is alive. We created a discussion forum and a way of reflection that are marked forever. We want this Thinking Football to be part of the calendar of the highest events in the world. We promise to do even better, if that is possible”, added Pedro Proença.

The “great success of this multidisciplinary event” was also reiterated by the Secretary of State for Home Affairs, Isabel Oneto, noting the “participation of renowned protagonists” to address “in an integrated way a phenomenon that many people are passionate about”.

“These were days of intense sharing of international experiences, which explored a business aspect of this football industry and go far beyond sports activity, being a privileged stage for the debate and development of the sector”, said the minister.
