Kevin Durant in the Top 15 all-time scorers!

Chaining the masterclass in scoring since the beginning of the season (since always in fact), Kevin Durant does not stop climbing the ranking of the best scorers in history. And this Monday in Cleveland, KD simply entered the Top 15 all-time.

Sorry Tim Duncan, you’ll have to vacate your seat.

Kevin Durant lacked 13 points to overtake the best strong winger in scoring history and thus take 15th place in the scorers’ standings. 13 points, in other words it was settled in a quarter or almost that night, KD equaling Timmy’s 26,496 points after the first 12 minutes against the Cavaliers. It was finally in the middle of the second quarter that Durant officially entered the Top 15 all-time.

Top 15, it’s nice, it sounds good, it’s square. But we warn right away, Kevin Durant will not stop there. And given the level at which he is currently evolving, we could talk about… Top 10 very quickly. From this 2022-23 season.

  • #15 : Kevin Durant (26 516 points)
  • #14 : Dominique Wilkins (26 668 points)
  • #13 : Oscar Robertson (26 710 points)
  • #12 : Hakeem Olajuwon (26 946 points)
  • #11 : Elvin Hayes (27 313 points)
  • #10 : Moses Malone (27 409 points)

With 26,516 points in total after tonight’s game against Cleveland and therefore 893 units behind Moses, Kevin Durant risks crushing everything in his path, provided of course that he remains in good health, which has rarely been the case in recent seasons. Fingers crossed for KD, who represents the very definition of an “offensive machine” this year: 33 games played out of 34, 30 points scored every night, in other words the guy is simply unplayable.

Considered by some to be the greatest intrinsic scorer in NBA history, Kevin Durant lost time in his rise to the top of the all-time scoring charts because of injuries he suffered during his career, including this rupture of the Achilles tendon in 2019 synonymous with a white season in the following campaign.

A lost time that he is trying to make up for today by achieving his career best season in overall shooting efficiency (56.3%!) and free throws (92.7%).
