NFL: The Chargers confirm their place in the playoffs

Austin Ekeler scored the game’s only two touchdowns and the Los Angeles Chargers crushed the Indianapolis Colts 20-3 on Monday.

With the win, the Chargers (9-6) secure a playoff berth for only the second time in the past nine seasons. Their last appearance in the playoffs was in 2018.

Ekeler scored his 10th and 11th rushing touchdowns of the season. He now has 16 rushing and receiving touchdowns, an NFL high. He finished the game with 67 rushing yards.

Justin Herbert completed 24 of 31 passes for 235 yards with one interception. He joined Keenan Allen 11 times for 104 yards.

Making his first start of the season, Nick Foles had a very difficult evening. He was limited to 143 passing yards and had three interceptions.

The Colts (4-10-1) suffer a fifth straight loss. They’ve won just one win in their last nine games.
