JUDOCAS NEOCHIMBOTANOS WON MEDALS IN NATIONAL

The delegation of judokas from the Dojo Yamashita club in Nuevo Chimbote had an outstanding participation, who managed to win 8 medals in the national Judo championship, according to the club’s coach, Giankarlo Leyton.

Professor Leyton reported that his pupils had the opportunity to participate in the closing Judo championship, which included the Sub13, Sub15 Junior and Senior Cadet categories and took place from December 1 to 5 in the city of Lima, where achieved as a result finish with 8 medals.

There were 5 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals, and an outstanding fifth place.

Among the judokas who ended up winning gold medals were; Carlos Zavaleta Preciado who won the gold medal in the Sub13 – 42 kg category, while his partner, Johana Valdiviezo Paulino, was the best in the Sub15 – 58 kg category. Our most outstanding judoka, Luciana Julca Preciado obtained the gold medal in the Cadet category – 57 kg, but also managed to participate in the Junior category – 57 Kg and finally also managed to win the gold medal in the Senior category – 57kg with which was crowned as one of the best judokas of the neochimbotana delegation.

Meanwhile, judoka Angie Estrada Callan, from the Under 15 – 53 kg category, managed to win the silver medal and the bronze went to Walter Sandoval Decena in the Under 13 – 52 kg category, and Belengher Sandoval Vásquez in the Sub 15 – 58 kg category.

For his part, the judoka René Seclen Silva, although it is true he could not achieve a medal, but he obtained a meritorious fifth place in his category.

Professor Leyton highlighted the triumph of his boys and indicated that now they only have to continue working to improve everyone’s performance.

We only have to continue working to be able to improve the result in this last national tournament, I think we closed the year 2022 well with two qualified for the South American School Games in Paraguay and now with 8 medals in this National Closing.
