In Qatar to enjoy the holidays and watch the World Cup, Germán Cano met with the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues. The Fluminense striker watched Brazil’s debut in the World Cup against Serbia, this Thursday (11/24). Richarlison, a former tricolor player, scored the goals for the national team in the 2-0 victory at Estádio Lusail.
The top scorer for Fluminense and the country for the season, who was accompanied by his wife and son Lorenzo during the meeting, exchanged gifts and received praise from the representative of the highest entity for Brazilian football.
“I was very happy to find Cano. He had a wonderful season and deserves all the admiration. During his time in Brazil, he won over the fans with his simplicity and beautiful goals”, said Ednaldo Rodrigues, who, in addition to being president of the CBF, is the head of the Brazilian delegation at the World Cup.
Last week, before leaving for Qatar, Germán Cano signed a contract renewal with Fluminense until the end of 2025. Scorer of 44 goals in the year, the number 14 broke several records and reached important milestones in 2022. Top scorer in the Championship Brazilian (26 goals) and Copa do Brasil (5 goals), the number 14 became the best scorer in the entire history of Fluminense in the same season if only official matches are considered.
