Former Eintracht Frankfurt President Rolf Heller was apparently killed News

Former Eintracht Frankfurt President Rolf Heller died on October 23 († 79). Funerals were held, family and companions said goodbye to the greatest crisis master of unity.

But now there is an unbelievable suspicion: Heller has apparently been the victim of a violent crime. This is reported by the “Hessischer Rundfunk”. Accordingly, the Erfurt public prosecutor is currently investigating on suspicion of murder or manslaughter.

A spokesman confirmed the investigation to “Hessischer Rundfunk”, two suspects are suspected of having killed Heller. It was not disclosed who it was, with reference to the current investigation.

One possibility: The two suspects could be Heller’s widow and daughter. The marriage was not too happy, it is rumored. However, the widow’s lawyer told the public service news agency that Heller’s wife loved him more than anything. He believes “under no circumstances” that she killed her husband.

The investigation started after members of the Eintracht legend reported doubts about Heller’s natural death to the police. The body was therefore autopsied – and evidence of external influence was actually found. Then the public prosecutor’s office began the investigation.

Heller was President of Eintracht from 1996 to 2000 and led the club through years of sporting and economic turbulence. With treasurer Gaetano Patella (80) and managing director Klaus Loetzbeier (81), he saved the club from being taken over by foreign investors.

The Ultras were formed under Heller in 1997. He recognized: “The fans are the greatest asset of Eintracht.” Many even slaughtered their piggy bank to help pay off the debt.

In 1998 he managed to get promoted with coach Horst Ehrmantraut (66) and in 1999 with Jörg Berger (†2010) the miracle of staying up.

On December 3, the association held a memorial service in memory of the deceased honorary president in the Wolfgang-Steubing-Halle in the sports center in Riederwald. Eintracht President Peter Fischer had mentioned that Eintracht had been unloaded for the actual funeral service on November 22nd.
