First defeat of Bourges in the Women’s League, against Villeneuve-d’Ascq

Bourges suffered its first defeat on Saturday during the 5th day of the Women’s League, returning from two weeks of international break. The French champions were dominated from start to finish in Villeneuve-d’Ascq (71-55) who suddenly joined Bourges with four successes while Asvel, undefeated and traveling to Tarbes on Sunday, had the opportunity to take the top of the ranking.

The Northerners completely thwarted the Berruyère attack, blocked at 21 points at the break and a very mediocre 32% success rate on shots (2/15 at three points) and 18 stray bullets. Kennedy Burke (23 points) led the ESBVA attack, also very expensive (19 stray bullets).
