Cuban Baseball Federation denies having held talks with the US government

The Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB) denied, in the last hours, that it has held any meeting with officials of the United States government, referring to the participation in the nearby world classic of this sport.

He also took advantage of his denunciation of false and malicious news to reiterate that baseball players who are active in Major League Baseball (MLB) and reside in the northern country still do not have permission to play with Cuba.

That message was retweeted by Miguel Fraga, a specialist from the United States Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who commented: “If it were not a serious issue and of such importance to our people, this denial by the FCB would not be necessary. Many falsehoods are spread about Cuba to misinform. What is certain is that everything in Cuba, including baseball, would be better without a blockade.”

The FCB began to alert weeks ago about the lack of permits for the participation of its team in the V World Baseball Classic, as well as to dispose of the athletes of interest who are active in the MLB.

At the beginning of December, the permit for the team was received, but the reference to the aforementioned professional athletes is still not available.

Such authorizations must be issued by the US government, in clear evidence of the discriminatory treatment to which the Island is subjected due to the blockade policy and other coercive measures.

Cuba has not yet announced its 50-player roster for the event, the only participant in that situation.
