«Wilfried Nancy est parti» – TVA Sports

Tony Marinaro is categorical: it’s over for Wilfried Nancy with CF Montreal.

The colorful columnist came to this conclusion during his segment at JiC in the wake of the article published by Jérémy Filosa, recounting in detail the dispute that occurred in the middle of the season between Joey Saputo and his head coach.

“For people who suspected it, Wilfried Nancy left, launched Marinaro. He’s going to Columbus [avec le Crew]. CF Montreal may be compensated in all of this.”

While this whole story gives Saputo the villain role, Marinaro and host Jean-Charles Lajoie wanted to issue a caveat.

“I know there are several people who don’t like the owner coming into the locker room. My father comes from Italy and the owner who comes into the locker room in Italy, it happens 4-5 days a week”, nuanced Marinaro.

“It’s too easy to accuse Saputo of all wrongs,” added Lajoie. When he goes to Bologna, he does, and he seems like a pleasant accountant. When he does it in Montreal, he looks like an outcast. When it comes to soccer culture, maybe we should start to understand it.”
