Lexus, which continues to be committed to innovating in the future of the automobile, offered the guests a #ExperienciaLexus with exclusive access to the opening and matches of the first day held between Australia and the Netherlands on the Center Court of the Martín Carpena venue. In addition, a private space in the VIP area of the 1900 Club, where its splendid catering ensures an unbeatable tour of the city’s most emblematic sites —some with one and two Michelin stars, such as Bardal o Jose Carlos Garcia— without leaving the Davis Cup grounds.
The Japanese brand, which continues to emphasize sustainability, also took the opportunity to participate in this Davis Cup as an official vehicle to present its new electric and hybrid models. In this case, it was the RX, NX, RZ and UX models that were chosen to occupy a central space in the tournament; the new RX was on display on the field and, for its part, the 100% electric RZ is —the most anticipated novelty from the house— could also be seen at the Martín Carpena venue.
New Lexus RX
It should be noted that, as the official brand —responsible for transporting the players and teams during the competition—, all the Lexus vehicles present in the international competition incorporated its renowned self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid technology, under the Lexus Electrified slogan. The objective behind these proposals was to confirm that the power and the driving level are not at odds with sustainability; thus, the RX 500h is an example of how a stimulating experience behind the wheel can generate a dialogue with the driver. “To achieve this, we have further developed the Lexus Driving Signature, comprehensively reinforcing the fundamentals of the vehicle, as well as adopting Lexus’ new all-wheel drive system, DIRECT4,” explained the brand’s chief engineer -Takaaki Ohno- in the framework of this competition. “The RX 500h offers power, immediacy and great response, thanks to a hybrid electric system with a new powerful rear electric motor. In addition, the brakes offer excellent control and rigidity, and the car is equipped with dynamic rear steering, with a wide angle, which gives great maneuverability and an outstanding feeling of security at high speed.”
For his part, Roberto Bautista is a user of the new RX450h —the other model in the range— and states that he is “delighted with it” as a novelty. “It is compatible with both my sports life and my family life, although I do want to try a 100% electric one and discover all its possibilities”, he reveals to us. “In that sense, Lexus is doing a great job in design, technology and construction of its new models.
