Author of a very interesting first season in Ligue 1 (10 goals and 4 decisive assists in 24 games), Hugo Ekitike cracked Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The 20-year-old striker has convinced the capital club to join the fight with many suitors and complete his arrival on loan with a compulsory purchase option (€36 million).
Caillot explains the deal with PSG
Last summer, this operation surprised more than one. Despite the interest of several foreign clubs, as well as an offer from Newcastle valued at 41 million euros, Stade de Reims had agreed to part with its best offensive weapon without receiving a large sum of money immediately. On the airwaves of RMC, the president of the Champagne club Jean-Pierre Caillot explained why he had accepted this deal with Paris SG.
We have just done our tenth positive exercise, which in football is not very common, he slips. As we were already quite well committed this year, it suited us to do this editing. On the sporting side, PSG are now expecting more than one element which will cost them 36 M€ next summer.
