Pro A ladies: Stade Clermontois for maintenance

Léolia Jeanjean made headlines at the last Roland-Garros by passing two laps. After having already worn the colors of Stade Clermontois a few years ago, she is making her return to the Marcombes side for these French championships by Pro A ladies teams.

“We only left with Gaëlle Desperrier, whose return we are very happy to have after her injury last year, as a player from the French team, evokes Vincent Monneyron. I first contacted Estelle Cascino who is a good singles player and very good at doubles. With the Marina Melnikova injury, I also revived Léolia Jeanjean, who is a former member of the club. His return is great. She is French, she is famous and she still played the third round at Roland”.

Also with Julia Grabher ranked 84th in the WTA, Isabella Shinikova, Conny Perrin, Tara Moore, Loïs Boisson and Martina Sucha, Stade Clermontois has lined up an interesting group for this Pro A season. A group capable of competing, denser and stronger therefore, but which will be subjected to an adversity which has not remained on its achievements.

A capital start

The Auvergnates will start their season under the sign of novelty with the first two opponents ever faced. It will first be Eaubonne, this Sunday at Marcombes, before welcoming the armada of CT Clermontois (Oise), reigning French champion and in the running for the double, which they will receive on November 23.

“It’s good to chain the two receptions because it allows us to stay together at home for several days,” said the captain. It is important for the group spirit, for the club and it also allows the young people of the club to see the girls of Pro A”.

With an ambition that can be summed up in a few words. Stade Clermontois TC wants to leave a team behind. And with this in mind, the first match already promises to be essential.
