Those led by Manuel Córdoba defeated La Unión de Formosa 91-86, for a new date of the regular phase of the National Basketball League. The Quimsa Athletic Association from Santiago added another joy at the Ciudad stadium with a huge personal performance by Brandon Robinson who contributed 39 points, with 6/10 in triples. Thomas Cooper was the most effective in the Formoseños with 23 goals.

The first four minutes had the locals with low effectiveness (1/6 on the field) with just a double from Robinson, La Unión led eleven to three thanks to bombs from Saglietti, Gómez and Cooper. Anderson was the solution in the merged to get into the game thanks to his internal game. Hill Mais contributed from the Formosa bench, a three-pointer from Cosolito leveled things up, and the fourth culminated with Hernández’s first points at home, which led 22-18.

Aliende put La U’s goal on his shoulder, Robinson continued on on the other side to equalize the process. A double and free kick by Pérez Tapia put his team in front 66 to 64. With 6’30” remaining, everything turned stick by stick again. Robinson did not stop scoring on one side and Cooper on the other. After 90 seconds, Sepo Ginóbili’s men were +4 up. With 37″ La Unión came back, but a great defense from Anderson appeared, closing the ring. The last one was the Santiago team who were three goals down, Pérez Tapia failed in the first instance, but after an offensive rebound Robinson (17 in the fourth) tied the score at 79 to go into extra time.

In two minutes of the addition, four Aliende points appeared in Formosa. The Fusion matched it with a double and foul by Anderson. Saglietti added three and Robinson answered. With 1’30” Anderson’s defense left his rival without points and a Robinson free kick widened the margin. At the end, the visitors lost a key ball, and Pérez Tapia closed it with two free kicks to win it 91 to 86.

Brandon Robinson broke it with 39 points, the highest mark by a Quimsa player in a National League game after Román González’s 37.

La Fusión (7-2) will have their next league match on Tuesday the 22nd against Regatas in the City. For its part, La Unión (4-7) will visit Olímpico in La Banda on Friday.
