Participating in the Iwamizawa Citizens’ Tournament to commemorate Sports Day – Hokkaido Likers POST

hello! This is Chinami Kuribayashi from the HOKKAIDO IWAMIZAWA FU writer team. From October 8th to 10th, FU participated in the Iwamizawa Citizens Tournament held at the Iwamizawa General Gymnasium. This time, I will tell you about the situation.

sports day event

Every year in Iwamizawa City, the Iwamizawa City Comprehensive Athletic Meet is held to commemorate Sports Day. Organized by Iwamizawa City Sports Day Executive Committee. From September to November, various sports competitions are held in the city, where everyone from children to adults compete with the results of their daily practice and watch and praise the bravery of their families and friends.

This time, FU participated in one of them. A basketball tournament was held for three days from October 8th to 10th, and I visited there.

A venue full of professionalism

Originally, the first FU project was to hold a basketball clinic for elementary school students, but unfortunately it ran out of time, so the clinic was not held. Start with an exhibition match. The venue was excited by the powerful play of the professionals.

After that, a free-throw challenge and a corner where children challenge the players in 3×3 were also held. The serious expressions of the children aiming for the goal were impressive. It seems that we can expect some players who will carry FU in the future from this list.

Impromptu autograph session

There was also an autograph session after the game. May the player’s autograph and this experience become a treasure for everyone!

Throughout the three days, we set up an FU booth at the venue to introduce club activities, players, and fan clubs. The athletes also stood at the booth and communicated with the citizens, and it was a three-day event in which the distance between the citizens and the citizens was shortened.
