NHL | Detroit – Toronto 2:4, Kubalík’s assist was not enough, the winning streak of the Red Wings ends. Vaněček picked up another win for the Devils

In the duel between Detroit and Toronto, Kubalík participated in the first goal of the game. The Czech striker was at the start of the action, which was finished by Moritz Seider and scored his 21st point of the season. Detroit did not hold the lead and lost after four games. Toronto succeeded for the fourth time in a row.

The winning shot was scored at the beginning of the second period by Mitchell Marner, who extended his point streak to 17 games. The 25-year-old Canadian is one game away from tying the longest point streak in the club’s history. “It’s a nice thing, but I could never have achieved it without the help of the team,” Marner said.

Vaněček had a big part in the success in New York’s Madison Square Garden. Although the Czech goalkeeper conceded two goals in the opening three minutes, he “closed” the goal after that and was surpassed only in the third period by Vincent Trocheck. But his contact shot did not start the turnover.

After only 80 seconds of the match, Chytil entered the statistics, finding Artěmije Panarin in a two-on-one counterattack. The Russian striker did not give the moving Vaněček a chance and sent Rangers into the lead.

Mika Zibanejad scored at 3:01, but New Jersey equalized in the first period and made it 4-2 before halftime. Jegor Šarangovič contributed two goals to the win, Slovak Tomáš Tatar scored a goal and an assist.

The Devils won their 10th in a row away from home and lost only one of their last 17 games. “It’s nice that we’re doing well, but we’re far from over. There’s still a lot of hockey ahead of us. We’re happy with the good start, but we’re not even halfway there yet. We’re trying to keep improving and moving forward, that’s our goal,” said the captain Nico Hischier.

First place in the Central Division with a 4:1 win over St. Louis consolidated Dallas. Stars with Radek Faksa in the lineup decided the match in the third period, which they won 3:1. Dallas’ 19-year-old forward Wyatt Johnston played the first two-point game in his career.

The Tampa Bay hockey players showed a great turnaround on the ice of Buffalo. When Jeff Skinner made it 5-3 in the 55th minute, it seemed to be decided. But the end of the game belonged to Lightning captain Steven Stamkos. First, he reduced the score to 4:5, and after Brandon Hagel’s equalizer in overtime, he decided on the Lightning’s win. The 32-year-old Canadian is only two points short of reaching the 1,000-point mark in Tampa’s jersey.

The conclusion was also successful for Edmonton. The home game against Florida was saved by Evan Bouchard, who shot past goalkeeper Spencer Knight at 59:55 and tied the score at 3:3. After 22 seconds of overtime, Leon Draisaitl completed the conversion. Florida defenseman Radko Gudas did not score.

Columbus hockey players once again had to do without the injured Jakub Voráček, who lost a point to Vegas in a battle between the best team in the Western Conference and the worst team in the Eastern Conference. The Golden Knights lost a two-goal lead, but ended up winning 3-2 after separate runs.
