MUHAMMAD Ferarri was called up by the Indonesian national team again ahead of the 2022 AFF Cup, Thomas Doll protested against Shin Tae-yong. Thomas Doll wants his players to return to Persija Jakarta after participating in the training camp (TC) with the U-20 Indonesian National Team.
Garuda Nusantara – nicknamed the U-20 Indonesian National Team – has just finished carrying out TC in Turkey and Spain. Muhammad Ferarri participated in the TC, but is now being called back to join the training camp with the senior team in Bali.
Doll as the coach of Ferrari at Persija, was not happy with this situation. The German coach feels he doesn’t have the chance to forge young players if his flagship wonderkid keeps getting called up to the Indonesian national team squad.
“My players in the U-20 national team have never trained with us. So, I don’t know if in the future my target is to develop young players when the federation takes them for four to five months with the National Team everywhere,” said Doll to the media crew at Nirwana Park Field, Bojongsari, Depok, Thursday (24/ 11/2022).
“They have competed but have never been with us at Persija. I don’t know, I have to think about this because I’m not happy with this situation,” he continued.
“Every club would be happy if they could develop young players. But if they are not in the game, how can that happen?” added the former Borussia Dortmund coach.
Doll said that he only had the opportunity to take care of Ferrari for a month at Persija. That was caused by Shin Tae-yong’s decision to call the defender for both the U-20 and senior teams.
