“Hapoel” won the Danish club Aarhus “Bakken Bears” away with a score of 72:71 (12:19, 16:16, 21:15, 23:21).
Throughout the second half, the battle was point by point and “Hapoel” was leading 70-71 before its last attack. It was concluded by Mejeris hitting the ball into the basket from above, who made it 72:71 in favor of the guests three seconds before the end of the regular time.
In this match, the Latvian basketball player spent 31 minutes and three seconds on the field, making five out of seven two-point shots, one out of three “threes” and two out of three free throws. He also had three rebounds, four assists, two points, two turnovers, two steals, one blocked shot, a positive +/- (+1) and 18 efficiency points.
Only Zach Hankins, who scored 14 points, had nine rebounds and two blocks, was more productive than Meyer in the winning team. Michel Diouf scored 18 points for the home team.
In subgroup E, the teams “MHP Riesen” from Ludwigsburg and “Hapoel” from Jerusalem have two and three victories each. Istanbul “Darisşafaka” basketball players have one victory in two matches, while Aarhus “Bakken Bears” have lost all three played duels.
The format of the competition remains unchanged – 32 teams compete in eight groups of four units. The winners of the groups immediately enter the round of 16, while the second and third place winners will compete in the “play-in” series in January 2023.
In the quarter-finals, the teams will play duels until two wins in April, and the season will end with the “Final Four” tournament in May.
