Instituto lost in La Banda against Olímpico

The red-and-white started out more focused than the La Banda team, with Luciano González commanding Gloria at a high level. Dominating from end to end and with a solid defense, Instituto took the first quarter 20-15.

During the first minutes of the second segment, Cordoba’s dominance continued. Averaging the same, the local reacted, narrowed the gap and tied the score. Lucas Victoriano moved pieces and brought “Chuzito” back onto the field, who converted two consecutive three-pointers and returned the advantage to his team. La Gloria went 39 to 35 at halftime.

In the games that Olimpico played at home, they always demonstrated power and superiority, but Instituto planted them and gave the locals no options. In each quarter it was difficult for the people of Santiago to start, while the visitors attacked as soon as the stages began and in this third, in just 2 minutes, they took an 11-point lead. Those from La Banda had an impeccable reaction converting 15 points in a row, thus tying the result 56 to 56.

The last segment was the most even of the four, the teams took 3 or 2 points ahead during almost the ten minutes of play and shared the post of the match. At the end, after a controversial play, Tayavek Gallizzi gave Instituto the tie and forced them to play the supplementary one.

In extra time, Olímpico beat Gloria 82 to 80. And so the red-and-white accumulates a record of 11-2 in this National League.

The next rival for those led by Lucas Victoriano will be Obras, on Thursday 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ángel Sandrín.
