Unusual moment at the Bayern press conference!
Before the Saturday game between the record champions and Hertha BSC, coach Julian Nagelsmann (35) chats with the media representatives as before every game. But at Berlin-PK, the coach suddenly stops himself – and blurts out an Instagram message.
When asked about the plans for the World Cup and winter break, Nagelsmann also talks about players like Marcel Sabitzer (28), who are traveling with their national teams for a short time but are not playing at the World Cup.
Nagelsmann: “You have some here like Sabi… oh well, I shouldn’t say any more nicknames.”

Then he reveals with a grin: “I once got an Instagram message. When I say nicknames, they never know who I mean. That’s why I now call Marcel Sabitzer.”
Nagelsmann is actually a big fan of nicknames, for example calling Sabitzer “Sabi”, Benjamin Pavard “Benji” or Kingsley Coman “King”.
Apparently, the short names caused general astonishment. With the ominous Instagram message, Nagelsmann is now calling his players by their full names again.
