We make banal mistakes. The players from the first two five should do something about it, the Litvín coach was angry

“We knew that Litvínov would fight here. Still, we couldn’t match them in the first act. We were happy that it was only 0:1. In the second period, however, there was a 180-degree turn. We started a little differently, because in the first we didn’t win a single fight, we were second everywhere and we turned practically the whole match around,” said Kohoutu coach Jan Tomajko.

At the same time, he admitted that in the final 20 minutes, his charges complicated things by unnecessary exclusion. “We conceded, there was panic, then we didn’t skate the player and suddenly it was just a goal. However, we played the last eight minutes excellently,” he stated.

Litvín’s coach Vladimír Růžička shook his head on the press after the match. “Our matches, with the exception of the last one with Pardubice, when it was 0-0 after sixty minutes, are like through a copier. Every time we have two good thirds, and we lose in one, whether it was in Třinec, Brno, with Mladá Boleslav, in Pilsen,” he said.

However, he refused to lay a blanket over his team. “If you lose, that’s what happens. The worst thing is that it doesn’t apply here. We always make a banal mistake at some point and we get a goal from that situation. We keep catching up and then it’s hard to get back. Players from the first two five should realize this and finally start doing something about it,” he emphasized.

The high number of goals conceded also bothers him. “Maybe Olomouc is capable of winning one or two. That’s how hockey is. If we score eight goals, let’s get six. But we get four, we only give two, three, and that’s not enough. The first and second periods were the same here, only in the opposite guard. But we hit once and the home team four times. That’s what makes the decision,” Růžička realizes.

However, he considers shot blocking to be the biggest shortcoming on the part of his charges. “We don’t jump to the punch. With the score 3:1, the opponent has a shot from between the circle, our goalkeeper is lying down, two players go for it and neither of them lie down. That way he doesn’t fight for points,” he added.
