Villalba Basketballin collaboration with the Municipality of Collado Villalba and the Lutin restaurant in Cercedastart the project JUGON addressed to GIRLS of any municipality of the Sierra, born between 2011 and 2017 inclusive.
Why?
Fewer and fewer girls are opting for sports and specifically for Basketball. exist obstacles very important in all the municipalities of the Sierra de Madrid for girls who want to start in Basketball. Many of them cannot play federated because in their municipalities there are not enough players or there is no Federated Basketball, which forces them to choose to sign up for mixed teams from the different Municipal Schools that compete in the ADS League, which is the League of the Association of Municipalities of the Sierra. The mixed teams are made up of 90% boys, with only a couple of girls signing up for each team on average. In this scenario, the girls are in inferior conditions and end up leaving frustrated. To meet this need and give girls the opportunity to play basketball with girls, the idea of CREATE A FEMALE MINIBASKET ACADEMYexclusively for girls.
What does the Academy offer?
- Extra sessions of fun, learning and exclusive coexistence with girls of the same age.
- Basketball will be the channel and means to relate, make new friends and feel capable in equal sports conditions with respect to children of their age.
- We will offer a greater opportunity for development and participation with respect to their teams and mixed competitions.
- Alternative activities related to Basketball: attendance at matches, gatherings, excursions, etc.
Where?
This Academy will be held in Collado Villalbaas a fixed and central point of the Sierra Noroeste de Madrid, in the Cervantes College (Ruiz de Alarcón Street 1, Collado Villalba) with the aim of concentrating these girls and working with them intensely by categories and levels.
When?
In order for it to be a compatible and complementary activity with the activities offered by the different Municipal Schools, it will be carried out every Sundays (less long weekends and school holidays) starting on October 23at one of the following times (according to registration):
- 11:00 – 12:00
- 12:00 – 13:00
