TOFAŞ hosted Beşiktaş Emlakjet in the 5th week match of the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League. Starting the match played at Nilüfer TOFAŞ Sports Hall with Berk Uğurlu, Rob Gray, Arturas Milaknis, Suleiman Braimoh and Boubacar Toure fives, the Blue Greens got their first basket with Arturas Milaknis’ three pointer. With the baskets of Boubacar Toure and Suleiman Braimoh leading 14-12 in the 7th minute into the television timeout, the home team fell behind 14-16 on the return of the break and closed the first quarter behind 15-21.
Starting the second period with Arturas Milaknis’s three-pointer, TOFAŞ Basketball Team tried to catch up with three-pointers by Emre Tanışan, Rob Gray and Arturasa Milaknis, but Beşiktaş Emlakjet caught a 10-point lead at 17.30: 31-41. Scoring points with Rob Gray and Berk Uğurlu at the end of the quarter, TOFAŞ entered the locker room behind 36-46.
Starting the third quarter by increasing their defensive resistance, the blue-greens narrowed the lead to 3 in the 24th minute with the points of Berk Uğurlu, Arturas Milaknis and Tyler Ennis with their fast attacks: 47-50. Equalizing the score with Tevfik Akdamar’s points, TOFAŞ took the lead 54-52 with Tyler Ennis’ mid-range basket. Bursa representative, trying to hold the upper hand with Tevfik Akdamar’s three-pointers, entered the final period behind 59-62.
At the beginning of the last quarter, the visiting team had an 8-point lead (59-67). Capturing the draw 68-68 with Rob Gray’s free throws, TOFAŞ increased the lead to 6 with 1.38 left with the baskets of Boubacar Toure and Rob Gray: 74-68. Scoring points from Rob Gray and Milaknis in the remaining section, TOFAŞ Basketball Team won the game 80-72.
