With the change in the management model of the Municipal Sports Schools, a project promoted by the Department of Sports of the Aldea del Rey City Council, directed by Fulgencio Flox, with the management and execution of the sport2000 company, the Consistory ensures that has managed to put Aldea del Rey on the provincial sports map and there are many clubs and Sports Schools, which look towards this small town of about 1,600 inhabitants to try to copy the model or attract outstanding students who belonged to Aldea in its beginnings. Thus, more than 20 students trained by the EDM Aldea del Rey will compete this year in federated clubs and Sports Schools, such as those of Ciudad Real, Manchego, Miguelturra, Salesianos, Puertollano… and others, in disciplines such as soccer, futsal or rhythmic gymnastics among others.
This season Aldea del Rey has more than 100 students in seven sports modalities: Initiation, Multisport, Prebenjamín, Alevín, Infantil and Cadet Futsal, Alevín, Infantil and Juvenil Women’s Volleyball, Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics, for boys and girls from the age of 3 years to 18 inclusive.
Fulgencio Flox has wanted to highlight that, although it is not the most important thing, results are also being collected. For example, two students have been provincial champions in rhythmic gymnastics and another runner-up; and in team sports they were children’s champions in futsal, provincial finalists in women’s volleyball, in addition to having players in different provincial youth, children’s and cadet teams.
