The amount of money Victor Wembanyama would bring to the team that signs him

The 2023 NBA Draft will be held in June of next year and although we are far from that date, there is a player who is already revolutionizing the world of basketball.

Frenchman Victor Wembanyama is considered the overwhelming favorite to be selected with the first pick in that draft and an exhibition game he played Tuesday night in Las Vegas served to confirm all the good things said about him.

Wembanyama had 37 points, 4 rebounds, 7 triples and 5 blocks in the game. Let us remember that only once in history has a player made 7 triples and 5 blocks (Danny Green in 2014) for which this high caliber performance revolutionized social networks.

The impact that this young prospect is generating is so great that LeBron James himself was surprised.

James said before this week’s preseason game against the Phoenix Suns that Wembanyama is a “generational talent”; a kind of “alien” among basketball players.

Now a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that the team that adds Wembanyama to the draft would be valued at an additional $500 million at its current price.

The expectation that this 18-year-old player is generating is comparable to that of LeBron James, Zion Williamson and Anthony Davis when they were close to entering the NBA draft. He’s the type of prospect who is considered to have the ability to become a star of a franchise and take it to the top.
