The French Shirine Boukli, world n°1 in her category, was eliminated in the 3rd round of the World Judo Championships in the under 48 kg category, Thursday in Tashkent.
Boukli lost on waza-ari against the Kazakh Abiba Abuzhakynova, 22nd in the world.
The 23-year-old judoka, who dispatched her opponent when she entered the second round, could really hope for a medal, or even the title, after winning her second European title at the end of April in Bulgaria.
