According to well-known transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dalot has been in Barcelona’s sights for a long time. Accordingly, the Catalans are said to have sent their scouts to England last season to closely monitor the Portuguese. Barça have scrutinized the 23-year-old several times this season, most recently during the international break against the Czech Republic, according to Romano.

United with contract option

The transfer expert reports that signing a new right-back next summer is a top priority for the top Spanish club. However, Dalot is not free of charge after the season, as previously assumed.

The right footer’s contract expires in June, but Manchester United have the option to extend the contract by a year until 2024. Regardless, the Red Devils would be working on a long-term contract extension with Dalot. However, the talks have not yet progressed very far.

Dalot moved from FC Porto to Old Trafford in 2018 for 22 million euros.
