Paul Pogba had to forget his dream of playing in the 2022 World Cup. Pogba had not recovered from a knee injury so he had to miss out. Whoops!
Pogba has not played once this season since returning to Juventus last July. Pogba then suffered a knee ligament injury in pre-season training.
In the process, Pogba opted for surgery in early September and immediately started recovery therapy. Unfortunately, the process did not go according to Pogba’s wishes.
Because when Pogba had trained normally and was close to a comeback, the injury hit him again. At a training session at Continassa last week, Pogba’s knee had problems again.
From the results of the scan, Monday (10/31/2022), Pogba had to continue his injury treatment so that he was confirmed to be absent from defending the French national team at the 2022 World Cup.
Because, the recovery process will last more than 15 days and Pogba’s condition is definitely not fit even though he was called by coach Didier Deschamps.
“After yesterday’s and today’s test results, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that Pogba still needs to recover after knee surgery in early September. That’s why Pogba cannot defend the French national team in Qatar,” Pogba’s agent Rafaela Pimenta told Sky Sport Italia.
The absence of Paul Pogba certainly hit France, which had already lost N’Golo Kante due to injury. Though both are mainstay of France when they became world champions four years ago.
