Stephen Curry Wins NBA Clutch Player of the Year Award for 2023/24 Season

The season is already over for the Golden State Warriors, but superstar Stephen Curry was still able to secure a title: The Dubs point guard wins the NBA Clutch Player of the Year Award 2023/24.

The 36-year-old narrowly defeated Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan with 298 votes. Number 11 from Chicago received 272 votes, followed in third place by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the Oklahoma City Thunder with 160 votes.

The award was introduced last year and Curry succeeds Kings guard De’Aaron Fox. The Warriors point guard scored 189 clutch points this season, the NBA defines “clutch” time as the final five minutes of games played within five points.

“You have to be able to deal with failure,” Curry said. “You have to deal with the misses and have a short memory. I don’t know if anything clicked other than you know how much time you put into the game and with that comes the confidence you deserve: ‘Okay, I’m ready for every moment I’m in or every throw I have to take.”
