Colombia obtained bronze in South American

With the athlete ‘Salvavidas’ María Yulieth Pérez Tangarife, the Colombian badminton team won a bronze medal, for mixed teams, at the Asunción 2022 South American Games, which will take place at the León Condou Stadium in this sporting discipline.

In this way, the team made up of Karen Patiño, Juliana Giraldo, Miguel Ángel Quirima, Daniel Borja, Giovanny Andrés Castaño and Maria Yulieth Pérez achieved their second international medal of the year, since they had recently been crowned runners-up in the Valledupar 2022 Bolivarian Games, making history by achieving the first medal for this sport in an Olympic cycle event.

At the close of this edition, the Quindiana had won the match in the first round, individual mode, against María Zambrano, from Ecuador, with scores 21-17 / 14-21 / 21-19.
