Archery on horseback, two Saronnese on the national podium

SARONNO – The Francesina horse archery team showed up in force at the last appointment of the competitive season. After the trips to France for an international competition and for the European championships, the Saronnese team could not miss the national appointment in the prestigious Federal Equestrian Center, in the Pratoni del Vivaro.

The Saronnese athletes of Francesina, under the guidance of Frederik Durandthey conquered the two highest steps of the podium of the race at a gallop. Silvia Beansriding Pilar, graduated 2022 Italian Junior Archery Champion on horseback in front of her teammate Giacomo Grego, on Asso; for both the results of the tests the first two places of the overall standings were also worth. Beatrice Legnani took second place in the Senior category.

Present in the lower category, at the trot, Sara Insinnamo e Matilde Legnani who respectively won first and second place in the junior category, ahead of their teammate Isabella Bianchi. Excellent performance of the eleven year old Edoardo Scialpi which took fourth place in the Children category.

Special thanks to the horses that accompanied our athletes: Pilar, Asso, Lauretta and Lancelotto.

The galloping category included two races. There Tower 90 which consists of a gallop race, on a 90 meters long track to be covered in less than 18 seconds, with the riders engaged in shooting as many arrows as possible towards a triptych of targets positioned on a tower. There Raid 233 which consists of a gallop race, on a 90 meters long track to be covered in less than 14 seconds, with the riders engaged in shooting with the utmost precision an arrow on each of the 2 or 3 targets, positioned at different angles. The best athletes covered the track in just over 9 seconds.

The workouts will continue throughout the winter; the next competitive events in spring.
