INTERVIEWS RSC Anderlecht is going through a deep crisis The fan outbursts after the game between Anderlecht and Standard also sent the Brussels bus driver home with a headache.

The damage at Rantour is estimated at around 10,000 euros. A complaint has been lodged with the police.

The bus that suffered the most damage was the one with which the stewards traveled from Anderlecht to Liège. Two side windows and the rear window were broken. The body was also damaged. Anderlecht’s team bus was also hit, but here the damage was limited to burn marks on the skylights. “The personalized number plate with the inscription RSCA has been stolen,” says Luc Heirweg, who has been the regular driver of the players’ bus for about seven years. “This is the official plate, which means that this combination will be removed. Now we have to request a new one, but I don’t know which one might RSCA-1? But it also means that the insurance has to be renewed, the bus has to be re-inspected, the tachograph has to be recalibrated and the transport permit has to be applied for again. So the theft has major consequences.”

Impressed

Heirweg kept his distance during the riots. “Standard is the only club in Belgium where you park with the players bus between the supporters buses,” he said. “That’s why we fell so easily. I stayed on the bus throughout the game and when the fans returned to the car park I saw the situation deteriorate. Billiard balls, beer bottles and flares flew in all directions. The Standard supporters sent these projectiles over. and therefore also hit our two buses. However, no flares hit the bus. It was quiet in the bus on the way back, everyone was impressed by what had happened in Liège.”
