3×3: “Riga” wins the Cebu Masters tournament

On October 1 and 2, the 3×3 basketball team “Rīga” took part in the Masters Series tournament in Cebu, Philippines, and won first place for the second time this season.

Olympic champions Nauris Miezis, Kārlis Pauls Lasmanis, Agnis Čavars and Edgars Krūmiņš played in “Rīgas”. The team was ranked number 1 in the tournament.

On Saturday, in the A group tournament, “Riga” beat the Japanese team “Utsunomiya” with 22:14 (Miez and Lasmani 9 points each, Krūmiņš 3, Čavar 1) and defeated the Mongolian team “Sansar” with 22:8 (Miez and Krūmiņa 8 points each, Lasmanim 6).

On Sunday, in the quarterfinals, Riga beat “Lausanne” with 21:13 (9 points for Krūmin, 7 for Lasman, 4 for Miez, 1 for Čavar), in the semi-final with 21:18 – “Amsterdam” (10 for Lasman, 9 for Miez, 1 for Čavar and Krūmin).

In the final game with “Antwerp”, the people of Riga first took the lead (7:1 and 14:9), then ended up losing (14:17), but in the last 80 seconds won with 21:19 (Miez 10 points, Lasmans 6, Krūmiņas 3, Chawar 22).

“Riga” has participated in four stages of the FIBA ​​World Tour this season, winning 7th place in Utsonomy (Japan), 5th place in Prague, as well as winning in Montreal and Cebu. 5th position in the overall ranking so far. There are still three stages planned, as well as the finals on December 6 and 7 in Abu Dhabi.

6th place in Novi Sad, 5th place in Bordeaux, 7th place in Lipica and 2nd place in Quebec City in Challenger tournaments.
