10 MCU Phase Four Heroes, Ranked By How They Would Have Fared Against Thanos

According to ComicBook.com, Thanos is still a popular baby name. In the four years since the theatrical release of Avengers: Infinity War and the Mad Titan became one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history, Thanos’ name has grown by 2,892. places on the Social Security Administration’s Name Popularity Index. Since the end of the Infinity Saga, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has introduced a bunch of new heroes.

If Phase Four characters like She-Hulk, America Chavez, and the Mighty Thor were there when Thanos attacked in Phase Three, how well would they have fared in a fight against him?

10/10 Kate Bishop

When Clint Barton finally got his own solo project in Phase Four, he passed the mantle of Hawkeye to equally skilled archer Kate Bishop. Like Clint, Kate has the moxie and courage to become an Avenger, but she doesn’t have any superpowers beyond her archery abilities.

Kate single-handedly defeated the Kingpin, but she wouldn’t have much luck against the purple kingpin. It would take a very special kind of arrow to kill Thanos.

9/10 Elena Belova

Fans never got to see the original Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff, fight against Thanos, as she gave her life to acquire the Soul Stone on Vormir. But how would his successor and surrogate sister, Yelena Belova, fare against the Mad Titan? Like Kate Bishop, Yelena doesn’t have superpowers.

But thanks to her Red Room training and all the terrible things she’s done for the KGB, Yelena is far more ruthless than Kate and has far more combat experience.

8/10 Mme Marvel

Kamala Khan is one of the most excited young superheroes to join the MCU in Phase Four, eager to follow in Carol Danvers’ footsteps. She is a shapeshifter who can manipulate cosmic energy like scaling her fist for a very painful punch.

Even if Ms. Marvel’s powers had a chance against the power of the Mad Titan — which is a big ‘if’, since he withstood Tony Stark’s entire arsenal — Kamala still seeks to control them, so she doesn’t. isn’t ready to take on a villain like Thanos.

7/10 Shang Chi

Shang-Chi is an extremely gifted martial arts master with superhuman strength. After his father bequeaths his signature weapon to Shang-Chi at the end of the film, he is now powered by the Ten Rings.

The Ten Rings are nowhere near as powerful as a fully-equipped Infinity Gauntlet, especially in the hands of a nigh-unstoppable supervillain like Thanos, but they’re still capable of doing a lot of damage.

6/10 Captain Carter

Steve Rogers was the only Avenger who nearly pulled the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos’ hand. The Mad Titan effortlessly took down heroes like Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Black Panther, but he looked genuinely concerned when Steve grabbed his glove and fired at it.

In an alternate universe, as seen in What If…?, the Super Soldier Serum was given to Peggy Carter instead. In this universe, when Thanos came to Earth, it would be Peggy whose strength would have Thanos worried.

5/10 Mighty Thor

In Thor: Love and Thunder, Jane Foster acquired the thunderous powers of her ex-boyfriend Thor and adopted the nickname “Mighty Thor.” Based on a promise Thor made years earlier while they were still together, Jane is worthy to lift Mjolnir and summon its divine power.

As demonstrated by Steve Rogers, Thor’s hammer can cause serious damage to the Mad Titan. Even though the Mighty Thor couldn’t defeat Thanos on his own, he could slow him down.

4/10 She-Hulk

When Jen Walters’ blood was mixed with that of her cousin Bruce Banner in a car accident, she gained her gamma radiation ability to transform into an evil green fighting machine. When the Hulk came to blows with Thanos, the Mad Titan defeated him within seconds, but Jen has more control over his powers than Bruce.

She-Hulk is as strong as the Hulk, and while Jen has yet to figure out how to fight most effectively, she is much stealthier in combat situations than her reckless cousin.

3/10 Moon Knight

Thanos imagines himself to be some kind of god, but Moon Knight actually has the powers of a god. Not only is Marc Spector a cold-hearted mercenary who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty; he is also the human avatar of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu.

Khonshu only grants Marc all of his divine abilities when it will help him do his own bidding. If Thanos went against Khonshu’s bidding, he would unleash all his wrath through Marc.

2/10 America Chavez

Any hero capable of defeating the Scarlet Witch would stand a chance against Thanos. America Chavez could use her interdimensional superpowers to banish the Mad Titan into a universe made of fire or a universe made of acid or a universe made of Asgardian weapons.

Alternatively, America could expose Thanos to the error of his ways through the eyes of his other self like he did with Wanda. What if…? has already shown fans that there is a universe where Thanos is a good guy.

1/10 Ikaris

The titular former aliens in Eternals are Marvel’s version of the Justice League. Speedster Makkari is a Flash clone, Thena, who evokes energy, is a Green Lantern clone, etc. With his powers of flight, superhuman strength, and laser eyes, Ikaris is the MCU’s answer to Superman.

His villainous turn in the film’s third act proves he’s too powerful for his own good. If anyone from Phase Four could have had a chance against the Mad Titan, it would be Ikaris.
