Twenty disciplines will be played at the European Week of Sport in Ávila

The program was presented this Monday by the Councilor for Sports and Festivals of the Ávila City Council, Félix Meneses, and the technician responsible for the activity, former athlete Santiago Moreno. The different clubs, delegations and entities that will carry out the activities will collaborate in it.

In total, there will be nine days in which it will be announced and the participants will be introduced to hockey practice; figure skating; basketball; athletics; archery; duathlon; volleyball; indigenous sports; hockey; swimming; triathlon; table tennis; boxing; kick boxing; fencing; cycling; climbing; speleology; trail and chess.

These activities will take place in municipal spaces such as the San Antonio pavilion, the surroundings of the North Canvas, the Multipurpose Cover, the Mercado Chico square, the CUM Carlos Sastre, the Manuel Sánchez Granado Complex, the San Antonio park or the Paseo del Trace.

During them, there will be open days, initiation days, provincial basketball meetings, fun athletics practice, volleyball or cycling gymkhana and native sports competition. Likewise, a solidarity race organized by the Reina Fabiola School will be organized on September 30.

The designed program is aimed at kids between 6 and 16 years old, except in fencing, whose age is raised for young people from 14 to 20 years old or for more than 20 years, depending on the day. Likewise, the day of “fun athletics” will be aimed at children from 4 to 14 years old. There will be no age difference in basketball, archery, indigenous sports, boxing and kickboxing practices.

In the development of the programming, there is the participation and collaboration of entities such as the Provincial Chess Delegation, the Ecosport and Puente Romanillos athletics clubs, as well as the Provincial Athletics Delegation, the Nosolo cuerda Mountain Club, the Fencing Club Santa Teresa, the Vettonia Hockey Club, the Stream Bike Cycling Club, the Reina Fabiola school, the Provincial Boxing and Kickboxing Delegation, the Figure Skating Club, Óbila Basket Club, Archers of the King, Triávila, Las Murallas Volleyball Club, Provincial Delegation of Autochthonous Sports, City of Ávila Swimming Club and Provincial Delegation of Table Tennis and Pronisa.
