The red and white Simone Carnevale at the Under 18 World Cup in the USA

At the B play-offs, which began last weekend, Piacenza will have to do without the young pitcher Simone Carnevale (born in 2004) called up in blue for the U18 World Cup which will be played in the United States from 9 to 18 September next. Simone was available, and deployed as a starting pitcher, on Saturday in game 1 against Reggio Emilia but already on Sunday he joined the blue group that left for Canada, as it will be in Toronto that the World Cup will be prepared. The azzurrini will remain there until 6, engaged in training sessions and in four friendlies against representatives of as many colleges: University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, York University and Toronto Metropolitan University. This important path towards the XXX U18 World Cup is possible thanks to the tangible support of the Italian community present in the Canadian metropolis. The transfer to Florida, near Tampa, will take place on the 7th while the blue debut will be on the 9th against Japan at the Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota. Carnevale and his companions will have to see it, in group A, also with Taiwan, Mexico, Panama and Australia. Group B hosts the United States, South Korea, the Netherlands, Canada, Brazil and South Africa. Italy arrives at this event thanks to the second place at the European Championships played last year in Macerata. For Simone Carnevale this is the second experience in the national team after the U15 European Championships played in Nettuno in 2019.
