Organized by the Club Carpinteros del Sur, this weekend the first edition of the long-awaited contest will be launched, which will take place in the Enrique Barbagelata municipal gym with the participation of six regional teams
With the intention of repeating the tournament year after year, this weekend there will be an intense sports day corresponding to the tournament in tribute to Adrián Mercado, an outstanding athlete in various disciplines, including basketball.
In honor of the young man from Angosturense, September 1 marks the 20th anniversary of the tragedy that occurred on Cerro Ventana when, on one of the educational outings, an avalanche broke off and took the lives of 9 students. One of them was that of Adrián Mercado who died at the age of 21.
On this occasion, the Enrique Barbagelata municipal gymnasium will host from next Saturday to Sunday with the dispute of 12 matches with six teams from the region: Deportivo Nahuel de Bariloche, CUBA de Bariloche, Lácar de San Martín de los Andes, Vintage from Zapala, Picún Básquet from Picún Leufú, and the local representatives Carpinteros del Sur.
The kick-off will be on Saturday, September 3 at 10 a.m. at the E. Barbagelata Gymnasium and will have the following duels: CUBA will face Deportivo Nahuel, while the locals Carpinteros del Sur and San Martín Lácar will give life to the second match at 11:30 a.m.
The third match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. between CUBA and Vintage Zapala, while Carpinteros del Sur and Picún Básquet will animate the fourth match at 2:30 p.m. At 4:00 p.m. it will be the turn of Vintage Zapala and Deportivo Nahuel, and finally at 6:15 p.m. Picún Básquet and San Martín Lácar will close the day.
Secondly, The opening ceremony of the tournament is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., while on Sunday the children’s categories will enjoy a friendly match. In turn, on Sunday the semifinals, third and fourth place will be played; fifth and sixth place; and the grand finale.
