Play the Under for Sunday Night Baseball – OutKick

Red Sox contro Yankees, 7:08 ET

It was supposed to happen, we didn’t have a good day in MLB yesterday. Even on a bad day, we went 1-2 and were only three knocked out from a 2-1 matchday before the Orioles had a run in their last bar to ruin the day. The season isn’t over yet, but I’m getting very close to 70 out of 0,500 games this year. Let’s try to get a little closer today.

Most of the eyes won’t be on the courts in this match, but this bet is where we should start our concern. Aaron Judge is getting all the attention in his quest for 61 right now. Will he take it on national TV against Brayan Bello? I think it’s a bit unlikely: Bellow only conceded one home run in the year. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t give up racing. He conceded 25 in 47.1 innings, which is good for a 4.75 ERA. Right now, however, he is playing really well. In the last 21.1 innings of this month, he conceded only four points earned. However, he conceded 20 hits, so he’s trying to stay out of trouble. In his most recent start against the Yankees, he went five innings and conceded three unearned runs while throwing six shots. The Bronx Bombers won that game 5-3.

Tonight begins the always interesting Nestor Cortes for the Yankees. It looks like he really enjoys pitching in New York, as his ERA is a hefty 2.30 and he only conceded five of his 16 home runs there. He had a nice August going to 14 innings and conceding just four points earned. This will be the first time they face Boston at home this season. In two away starts, he was good at one (that was the 5-3 game I mentioned earlier) and not that strong at the other. I think he makes a big difference in this game that he is at home. The Red Sox have nothing left to play for, but that doesn’t mean they’ll want the Yankees to win.

I think this game is an under. We have a total of 8 that the Yankees team can usually score on their own in almost any game. We’ll see if Bello is a big player or not, as nationwide televised games may be out of balance, but Cortes should get the deal out of him. I take the game as 8 under -115.
