Olotí Simo will have to go to trial for an alleged crime of gender violence

Simo Bouzaidi from Olot, Córdoba CF player, was arrested on Monday for an alleged crime of mistreatment of his partner and will now have to face a quick trial. The Garrotxí footballer will be summoned to the Criminal Court number 6 of Córdoba under the accusation of a crime of injuries due to gender violence. Despite the fact that the player’s partner did not ratify the complaint and denied the facts, the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Córdoba has seen evidence of a crime and acted ex officio by presenting the accusation. The Court of Violence against Women in Córdoba will, therefore, elevate the case to Penal 6, where a quick trial will take place on a date to be designated, although the proceedings have been described as urgent.

Simo was arrested on Monday by the National Police for alleged physical abuse of his partner. However, since Tuesday he has been carrying out his professional activities with Córdoba after being provisionally released. The player was taken to the police station, where the victim presented a statement of medical assistance. However, neither he nor she wanted to testify and she expressed her desire not to press charges.
