After a five-year break, the 1. FC Cologne now international again.
After the Bundesliga team beat Hungarian club Fehervar in the play-offs, they are now playing in the Conference League. It starts on Thursday in Nice.
It’s clear: The club and the environment are looking forward to returning to Europe. Most recently, Cologne played 17/18 in the Europa League, but after duels with Arsenal, Bate Borisov and Red Star Belgrade, they did not get past the group stage. That should change now.
Coach Steffen Baumgart: “I don’t think we’re the team with the highest individual quality. But we are a really good collective.”
Goalkeeper Schwäbe is looking forward to the next games. The keeper: “The interesting weeks are coming now. We will do everything to ensure that this continues.”
