IT House September 18 news, Apple recently announced that iOS 16.1 will enable a new real-time activity feature, allowing iPhone users to know what is happening in real time directly from the lock screen, such as sports games or food delivery orders.
In the iOS 16.1 Beta available to developers and public testers this week, Apple is testing the integration of live events and sports through the TV app.
In the TV app, tapping the “Follow” button for a sports game will display real-time activity on the lock screen for that game, including live-updated scoreboards and game-by-game action, such as baseball players striking out, IT House has learned. As shown below, a brief summary of the match is also displayed below the score.
Live activity is displayed at the bottom of the lock screen on iPhone 13 and earlier, as well as on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.On iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, real-time activity will appear at the top of the lock screen in Smart Island— “Smart Island” is a new pill-shaped area around the Face ID sensor and front-facing camera that expands and displays system alerts and other content at a glance.
Apple says iOS 16.1 will be released later this year, bringing live events to the masses. For sports, the feature will be available for MLB games for users in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, Brazil, Mexico, Japan and South Korea, as well as NBA and Premier League games for users in the US and Canada only at launch.
Live Activity also supports timers set in the Clock app, and third-party apps will also support the feature. Once the iOS 16.1 RC preview is available, Apple says developers will be able to submit apps that support live activity to the App Store.Return to Sohu, see more
