Great success for “Sport in Piazza” and “Alba in Bici”

Great success this year for Alba in Bici e Sport in Piazza, the two events organized by the Municipality of Alba in Piazza Medford, as part of the European week of sustainable mobility. Since the morning, about 700 children and teenagers have tried their hand at the various sports set up by the numerous city associations in Medford square: fencing, martial arts, dance, skating, volleyball, athletics, basketball, badminton, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, table tennis, cheerleading , rugby, mountain biking and other disciplines.

Present the Asd Gymnastics Alba, San Paolo Sport, Club Le Loi, Shinken, Table Tennis, Albese Judo Center, KBC 2000 Alba, Rhythmic Gymnastics Victoria Alba, Olimpo Basket, Cicoballs, Alba Shuttle Badminton, L’Albavolley, Victoria Skating, Langheting, Freelangher, Alba Athletics, Cheerleading, Alba Fencing Academy, Alba Tennis Club, Alba Rugby, Associated Fencing Club.

Among the various positions, there is also a tennis court set up by the ATP Finals, the prestigious tennis tournament scheduled in Turin in November. A tournament reserved for the best eight professional athletes in the singles and doubles rankings. The godmother of the tournament, Manuela Savini, world padel champion over 45, attended Sport in Piazza in Alba. At the end of the day, Francesca Servetto won the first prize in the lottery, with extraction of various prizes for children who tried at least 8 sports, taking home a mountain bike.

Great success also for the ninth edition of Alba in Bici with about 250 people pedaling. The FIAB (Italian Bicycle Federation) and Alba Bike Team associations accompany the parade, along the route of about 10 kilometers, through the streets of the city, passing through the San Cassiano district, in the historic center and, on their return, in the Tanaro Park.

To win the mountain bike drawn by lot among the members was Eleonora Baldi, the bicycle ride together with her four daughters. The municipal councilor for mobility, the sports delegate councilor and the president of the Piedmont Region attended the award ceremony.
