Veterans Basketball Tournament Has Started – Bodrum’s Leading News Center…

Bodrum Veterans Basketball Tournament, organized in memory of İsmail Ulukan, has started.

The tournament, which is organized every year in the name of basketball coach İsmail Ulukan, who passed away in Bodrum in September 2017, is held at the Binnaz Karakaya Sports Hall this year. 18 teams from different provinces participate in the tournament.

Mahmut Yazoğlu, one of the basketball players who organized the tournament, made the following statement to Kent Haber:

“Ismail Ulukan started this business. We continue this. It is done in 5 regions of Turkey. It is held in Antalya, Bursa, Bodrum, Marmaris and Bolu. Those attending here are former basketball players. In this tournament, there are a total of 18 teams from cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Bursa, as well as Bodrum. It will end on Saturday. There will be 10 games a day, we will finish with a total of 30 games.”

Cudi İmamoğulları, one of the former basketball players, stated that they organize this tournament every year on behalf of his friends İsmail Ulukan and said, “Our aim is to gather former basketball players together. To live the old days, to experience that excitement again.” he said.

Baki Çelikbilek, the captain of the ITK Legends team, who participated in the tournament, gave the information that they won the opening match and said:

“From now on, we have three more matches. We want to come out as the group winner and play in the final. We, as ITK, are the players of Izmir Private Turkish College. We are here both to represent our institution well and to get together with friends and reminisce about the old days.”
