On Tuesday, Formula 1 and the FIA announced that six sprint races are on the calendar from 2023. It is not yet clear which circuits will host these races, but it is clear that the fans are not too happy about it.
There have been three sprint races per season for the past two seasons, and the results have been mixed. Some sprint races were entertaining, while in other sprint races nothing much happened and it had little impact on Sunday’s grid. Some things were adjusted from 2021 to 2022, but the reactions are also divided in 2022.

Nevertheless, the FIA has decided to organize six sprint races from 2023. This means there will be six sprint race weekends next year, with a total of 24 races on the calendar. At first glance, the fans are not yet a fan of it and are reacting to the news.
NO ONE WANTS THIS

Do you guys not understand Quality over Quantity?

I speak for everyone when I say F1 should return to NORMAL weekends, no more of this sprint bullshit

No one needs this. Completely unnecessary. You always talk about saving money and then you do something like this. F1 is oversaturated. The individual race is practically lost in the crowd and is no longer a highlight.

I feel so dejected that what was once a sport is now converting completely to entertainment, and selling it’s soul in the process.
Making decisions with only the monetary aspect and raising numbers in mind will give short-term gains, but will result in long-time fans’ departure.— Sahil Dularey (@sahildularey25) September 27, 2022
Don’t you ever look at feedback and comments from fans?

Before you say that fans appreciate these sprint races or whatever you call them: no we don’t

The only thing ‘breaking’ about this is the sport. Fans say that there’s enough races, if not too many, so you add more. Majority of fans don’t like Sprints or don’t enjoy in current format, so you add more. Who are you doing this for? Cause it ain’t the fans.

Sprints are so bad ????. They’re boring to watch, and they only serve to A) make money and B) let any top teams fix mistakes from qualifying. So disappointing…

You are destroying the prestige of the sport with every ridiculous gimmick you announce.
Drop the ridiculous obsession with ‘the show’ and get F1 back to what it once was- the pinnacle of world motorsport.
