Croatian footballers beat Denmark in the fight for first place in the group

In the first group of the A League, Croatia beat Denmark at home with 2:1 (0:0).

In the 49th minute, Borna Sosa put the hosts in the lead, but in the 77th minute, the Danes equalized the score after Christian Eriksen’s cross.

In the 79th minute, Lovro Majers scored another goal for the home team – 2:1.

In the second group game for not remaining in the last place in the group, France beat Austria 2:0 (0:0) at home.

The goal was scored by Kylian Mbappe in the 56th minute, and nine minutes later by Olivier Giroud, who assisted in the first goal.

In the tournament table after five rounds, Croatia has ten points, Denmark nine, France five and Austria four.

Meanwhile, the favorites celebrated their victories in the fourth group of the A League. The Netherlands beat Poland away with 2:0 (0:0).

Cody Gakpo scored in the 14th minute and Steffen Bergwein in the 60th minute.

In the second group game, Belgium beat Wales 2-1 (2-0) at home.

Kevin de Brujne in the tenth minute and Michy Batshuayi after de Brujne’s pass in the 37th minute achieved a 2-0 advantage.

Kiefer Moore scored one goal in the 50th minute.

After five matches in the fourth group of the A League, the Netherlands has 13 points, Belgium has ten, Poland has four, and Wales has one.

In the Nations League, group winners earn the opportunity to play in a higher group next season. Namely, the team that wins one of the C groups gets the opportunity to compete in one of the B groups, while the winners of the B groups compete in the A groups next season. The weakest teams in Group C meet in knockout matches to determine the two teams that will be relegated to League D, replacing its two strongest teams.

The Nations League tournament is taking place for the third time.

The final tournament of the previous season took place last October, with France defeating Spain in the title race. In the first season, Portugal hosted the final tournament, the hosts becoming the first UEFA Nations League champions in history.
